Cosmetic Treatment Gallery

Jenny is such an attractive lady. When she first came to me all that let her down were her teeth, especially the gaps on both sides. Having been recently widowed she decided she wanted to do something for herself, to give her a boost. She wanted to improve her smile. There was quite a lot to do, but 5 implants and quite a few beautiful all porcelain crowns later, she was over the moon with the result!

Diane had been coming to me for MANY years as one of my most nervous patients. Every time she came in, we would discuss her ‘sticky out tooth’, her ‘fang’, which she really hated, and discussed ways in which we could improve things. However, every time her fear got the better of her and so any basic treatment was done and nothing more was mentioned about the ‘fang’ …….until her next dental health review, when we would have the conversation all over again!

Then one day, 10 years down the line, Diane came in, sat down, and said “This time I am going to do it for real, I am going to get rid of my fang, I hate it so much! What are the options?”

So we sat down together, mulled it over, and came up with a treatment plan, including some sedation for the more major work…

The day we finished, all Diane could do was to quote the Jabberwocky, by John Clare “Kaloo Kalay, Oh Frabgious Day!” She was so pleased she was finally rid of her fang and able to smile with confidence.

What a difference a little white filling can make!

Jacquie had been my beautician for a while, and so the subject of teeth often came up whilst the eyebrows were being shaped. Jacquie has a lovely smile but wanted her teeth to really sparkle. So we agreed to do some whitening, but for me, the thing that made the most difference to her smile was to fill in the tiny chip she had on the edge of her left front tooth – so easy, so simple – no injection, no drilling, no veneers, just carefully bond and sculpture a little white filling and what a transformation!

Another example of how simple addition of well colour matched white filling can transform a worn smile (probably the teeth were mainly eroded from acidic drinks).

Anne likes her slightly unusual shaped front teeth. We agreed they are how she has always been and are part of her character. So when the very old filling on the left one came off, which had always been a bit shorter than the right one, she decided rather than reducing the length and reshaping the front corner of this tooth, she would like a mirror image of it to maintain the look she had always had.

I very carefully colour matched and built up the left front tooth using white filling material, and then gently refined the shape using a handpiece to get the exact mirror effect. It took a little time but no anaesthetic or drilling was needed, and Anne was very happy to have her teeth looking how they always had done again, both exactly the same length.

Poor old Francesca! We were camping in Devon with her family and a load of others, and she fell of her bike resulting in all sorts of bruises, cut lips and nose, and worst of all a broken front tooth. She was so brave and kept on smiling, bruises and all, for the rest of the holiday which I thought was pretty amazing for that self-conscious age of 16!

A careful application of white filling material when we got home soon sorted things out though, and the lips healed fully not too long after, and Francesca carried on smiling through out! She’ll go far, that girl, I reckon.

Here is a nice example of how whitening can not only lift the shade of a whole arch of teeth, but how even a darker one can come up beautifully, giving, not only a whiter but a more even colour of smile.
