Restorative Treatments
Repair and revitalisation – improving your options
We have many ways to save your teeth, some traditional and some using cutting-edge dental technology.
Cerec
Our aim is to provide excellent patient care and to achieve this we invest in the latest technology, including Cerec, an innovative system used by only 700 dentists in the UK. Cerec allows us to design, create and fit a porcelain filling, dental crown or veneer during a single appointment - something that could have taken at least two weeks and required multiple visits in the past. Cerec creates quality restorations in our practice in about an hour-and-a-half. This means the work can be completed and the tooth restored during your appointment without the need for impressions or temporary fittings.
Crowns
Usually made from gold or porcelain, crowns strengthen and stabilise a damaged or weakened tooth. Cap-shaped, they fit over the entire tooth. Porcelain crowns are colour-matched to your existing teeth and can also be used to alter the shape and alignment to achieve impressive cosmetic results.
Bridges
A dental bridge is a permanent fixture comprising a one or more false teeth and is used to fill the gap after the natural tooth has been lost through injury or extraction. It is anchored to the teeth at one, or both, sides using metal bands held in place by resin or cement. We offer two types of bridge, traditional and Maryland. The Maryland bridge anchors the false tooth with a small metal wing adhering to the back of the teeth either side.
Inlays & overlays
Inlays are a stronger alternative to conventional fillings and can be made out of gold or tooth-coloured ceramic. We prepare and make a precise impression of the cavity. From this mould, a specialist dental technician then produces an inlay tailored to the tooth, which is then glued into the cavity. Overlays mould the gold or ceramic around and over the entire profile of your tooth, holding it together and making it as strong as possible. Using Cerec, we can provide a modern, same-day form of these restorations.
Dentures
Designed to replace teeth lost through age, accident, gum disease or extraction, dentures are precision-made for comfort and fit, and tailored to match your existing teeth.
Implants
For aesthetic and functional reasons, missing teeth need to be replaced. Dental implants provide a long-term solution, slow down bone loss and preserve nearby healthy tooth tissue. A titanium post is inserted directly into the jawbone and, after about three to six months, a porcelain tooth is fitted to it. The difference is barely detectable and they work just as well as the original.
What our patients say…
I am writing to thank you for the care and attention you gave me during my recent treatment to whiten my teeth and replace several crowns. It took me quite a while to make my decision to have the treatment, but I am so glad I did...
